NCCA's 'New Territories' Members' show for 2013 takes a theme: BALANCE.
The theme was inspired by Paul Kelly's spoken tribute at the state memorial service for the late Dr Yunupingu, former lead singer of global sensation Yothu Yindi, and long-time educator and cultural ambassador for his people. Kelly remembered Dr Yunupingu as 'a man of balance'.
Members were encouraged to respond to this particular tribute context of 'balance', or of the word/concept more broadly, with a bulging (but well-balanced) swag of prizes on offer (more details to come) for those works judged to best address the theme.
